As many of you know, my wife Jeanette had a major stroke in August 2006. She initially lost use of her entire left side. Couldn't move her left shoulder, arm, hand, leg or feet. She had just the slightest movement in her toes.
   

Over time and a great deal of physical therapy she has recovered remarkably well. She can walk, drive a car, and has regained much use of her left arm and hand, although it takes a great deal of energy and concentration.

However, there have been some lasting effects. Everything is much more difficult, from speaking to smiling to putting on a necklace. While she has big muscle use in her left arm back, it takes enormous mental concentration and energy to do little things with her hands and fingers, like tying her hair back or buttoning her blouse.

Consequently her biggest challenge has been fatigue and loss of self-esteem. Jeanette used to be tireless as a pastor’s wife, leading bible studies, children and youth ministries, as well as homeschooling four kids. And, oh yes, being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker.

Since the stroke she simply has not had the stamina to do near what she used to. She would get up in the morning to drive the kids to school, then come home and crash on the couch for two hours. Then she would get up for an hour and a half, check her email, make a phone call or two, fix lunch, then be simply exhausted and need another two-hour nap.

When you are used to being productive and suddenly can’t produce like you use to, it’s a blow to one’s self-esteem and confidence. She felt worthless and depressed from the results of the stroke.

In February, a church friend called her to tell her about a home-based business she had started and the results so many people were getting from the products. At that point Jeanette felt there was nothing to lose so she decided to give them a try. The results were remarkable.

Her debilitating fatigue went away and her productivity has virtually doubled.

TWO DAYS after being on the products, she no longer needed her morning nap. She could now work through the morning. Now she works most days without either a morning or afternoon nap.

I cannot begin to tell you what that has meant for her. No, she still can’t do all she could before the stroke and yes, there are still lasting effects that may never change. She can cry at a wallpaper commercial! But we can both laugh about it now because we know that’s just the stroke and that she’s so much better now.

The bottom line is Jeanette is back!

She feels good about herself again. She is productive again and she is on a mission to help others with these products and perhaps start a business themselves. There is no paycheck more rewarding than the paycheck of the heart when you see someone who has been so discouraged get their health back or make money they simply never knew they could make.

Oh, I forgot to mention. Jeanette had also suffered lingering pain in her left calf from the stroke. We spent thousands upon thousands of dollars trying to get that fixed in rehab, first in Santa Barbara and then in Fort Collins. They tried massage, electrical stimulation, heat, relaxation techniques – you name it – nothing worked.

Three weeks after having been on the products, the pain in her calf disappeared. That was three months ago and the pain has not come back.

Obviously we have shared this with our loved ones and man, is it fun to see what is going on. My 60-year old brother who has struggled with knee pain (missing cartilage) can now walk downhill without pain. Over Memorial Day, he played four hours of volleyball for the first time in years! Jeanette’s brother has a history with Atrial Fibrillation. He called a couple weeks ago excited that since he’s been on the products he hasn’t had a single episode.

Our daughter couldn’t be out in the sun because of the severe migraines she would get. Last month she quietly revealed to her mother now she can be out in the sun without getting sick (she didn’t tell me because I would make her mow the lawn!).

That’s the thing – EVERYBODY we share this with is getting results.

I was a Shriner's Hospital crippled child

I had a hip disease as a kid. Spent three years in a full-length brace. At age 12 I entered the Shriner's Hospital in Salt Lake City with a 50-50 chance of ever walking again. The surgery was successful and I lived a normal life until 1989 when arthritis started kicking in.

On meds since 1989

Since that time to this year I have been on medications for arthritis. On bad days I would take Darvecet, wrap the hip in a blanket and sit on a heat pad in a recliner watching comedies to try to take my mind off the pain. On "good" days I only needed Ibuprophen every four hours (8 a day).

After a failed surgery in 1990, I had a hip replacement at the ripe young age of 36. While this has helped, I still have needed the meds. I used to golf regularly. Since 1993 have only played five rounds.

After spending a week in 1997 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester assessing what could be done, the staff reluctantly told me there was nothing more medically that could be done about the pain. From this point on all I could do was Pain Management.

Accepting chronic pain

After Mayo, I have long since accepted I would live the rest of my life in chronic pain. Golf was a thing of the past. After weddings I always have to ice my lower back, causing complications for my arthritic hip. But you accept things and move on. I did with no delusions whatsoever it would ever change

My Stunning Breakthrough

After Jeanette was introduced to the company and products and got such encouraging results, I reluctantly started in mid-March of this year. My motivation was simply preventative since I've lived such a sendentary life over the years and not considered exercise and diet as much as I should have.
